Tracey Jones, MA, Dip. Couns.

Highly qualified and motivated professional help.

Following a life changing disability, (amputation of my left leg below the knee after a traffic accident),  I trained as a somatic/ creative arts psychotherapist in 2014 and developed my interest in positive recovery after trauma, gaining a Masters Degree in Dance and Movement Psychotherapy.  Following this in 2021 I trained in talking therapies and became both a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist.

Since then I have set up privately and continue to develop my own  style of practice suited to the individual, which creates a truly holistic and unique approach for each client.

Counselling is useful for times of current distress which is generally short term work to cope with a current problem.   I can also offer depth psychology if the snags and issues are seated much deeper.  this means if you work through current issues and deeper ones surface, you don't need to change your therapist and start all over again to deal with more complex issues, like trauma, phobias, unconscious relational patterns and self sabotage.  Psychotherapy is recommended as the treatment of trauma for example, not counselling.

Working somatically helps to bring the unspoken voice of the body's lived experience into therapy.  My knowledge of how trauma can effect the body, and how the mind can continue to effect that, is a knowlege base clients report gaining a lot of insight about themselves from.  I work as they say, "top down and bottom up" and empower clients by guideing the work towards self knowledge and insight.

I am equally experienced working with children as I am with adult problems and I am currently helping teenage school refusers make sense of their thoughts, feelings and anxieties.  I have a background in education and am an accredited therapist with BANES and Wiltshire Council.

Humanistic Dance Movement Psychotherapist, IFS Level 1 trained Creative Clinical Supervisor

"I approach supervision in the same way I approach therapy; that first and foremost there needs to be a trusting relationship based on unconditional positive regard, compassion and respect. The difference here is that those conditions also reach out to the clients and professionals brought into the supervision space by you".
